Appalachian Wildflowers of Carter County Tennessee

Here are photos of some local wildflowers. Hundreds of species of blooming plants and trees exist here in the southern Appalachians. This area has very diverse plant life. As the spring season advances, waves of blooms work up from the valley floor to the peaks. The same plants that bloom in Elizabethton might show up a month later at Roan Mountain.
